The answer you've all been waiting for: the shoes in the last post are Danskos, bought via eBay. and I must say, I've only ever seen that particular pair once... That said, I'm liquidating much of my Dansko collection after numerous medical opinions on my plantar fasciitis. Turns out I also have fallen arches, not flat feet, and severe pronation. I'm switching over to Birks, and will get rid of my least loved Danskos. I'll be putting them up for auction ASAP. (I'm keeping the fabulous ones in the previous post, before you ask...)
And now, to turn the topic away from my feet and back to my socks. Heh. I finished another pair!
Here they are in my new purple Birks. If I have to wear 'em, they're gonna be funky at least! The pattern is Faceted Rib by Charlene Schurch, and I had a little tiny problem with it. Remember my joy at having just enough yarn to finish sock #1?
Not so much with Sock #2. I ran out in the toe area. Even using every tiny scrap I could salvage from #1... Ah, well, no one will be able to see that black toe once I put on shoes.
I've also been sewing! One baby quilt quilted and bound and to be delivered later today- no finished photos but you may remember the top from here. and then yesterday, I put the finishing touches on a top for aniother baby. This is the baby that is joining my family via the bride and groom who got the chuppah. 2 quilts in one year, those lucky dogs ;-) (They were blessed with exactly what they wanted- to get pregnant on the honeymoon.) As they chose to have the sex of the baby stay a secret, I struggled with gender neutral. Both parents are big readers, so I finally went with some fun Dick and Jane fabrics from Michael Miller. What do you think?
The fabrics are so much fun! The final binding will be a lovely yellow fabric, which I am hoping will pull it all together. Next up: an Xmas gift for my folks made from Peace on Earth by 3 sisters for Moda. And 2 doll quilts for swaps, one for DQS5 and one private swap. And some Xmas knitting and other stuff.
But first, we're going to Disneyland- we should be there in about 48 hours! Hooray! We've all got costumes. It's in the 80s there. We're getting to see several friends- and maybe even meet one blog buddy in person for the first time!
But now I have to go, because I just got the call I was waiting for all day- from my Dad's toyota dealer. Wish me mini-van luck!
I've been wearing birks for a long time because of the pronation...
Lovely quilt.
Oh if it were that easy to have a honeymoon baby - I'd have several by now...

Gorgeous quilt!
Love the socks, and no one will see the black toe once the shoe is on. Speaking of shoes, I have to say, they are the funkiest birks I've ever seen.

Wait, are you getting a mini-van? What happened to the Prius?
Cute quilt. Is that the old stand by bits n' pieces pattern?

I bought some of that wordy Dick and Jane fabric-too cute! I had to give up some of my birks as they were too hard on my feet-different issues, different solutions! love the latest socks, even with a black toe-they are wonderful-your Disneyland trip sounds like too much fun!
