First off- I've decided just to put the Stash Sunday entries over at the stash Sunday HQ blog. Double posting is too much work for a lazy gal like me... So, wanna know what fabric I am extremely grateful to own? Go visit! LOL!
Today, I accomplished one lovely thing. (And if you are my mother, or will show her this, time to stop reading. NOW.) My mom's birthday is exactly 7 days after mine (12/23, if you need to know). So when I arrived, not only did she have to spend Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year's Eve and Days in the hospital, she was also trapped there for her birthday. I've told her time and again, that wasn't my fault, but oh well. Which means not only do I have to come up with a great Christmas present, but also a lovely birthday present a few days later. And as my mom is (justifiably) bitter that all her childhood birthday presents came from after Xmas sales (she says she felt like she only got the leftovers that no one else wanted), the birthday present has to be good. Is this good?
Another of the scarves. The front is all from my stash- and faithful readers might recognize the theme fabric as the bowl fabric from Thanksgiving. Nothing like having a big stash... I did buy new fabric for the backing. I used some fleece fun fur stuff from JoAnns, and it was VERY tricky to work with. SUPER SLIPPERY. Left pieces of fluff on everything, including me. But, it is nice and soft and warm. I'm hoping it will get easier to work with as I go along. I splurged and bought some Oh So Soft to try, but at $16/yard, I'm either going to have to find a cheaper source, or a 2nd job! BTW- Tonya, if you look really closely at the photo with me in it, you can see my lime green wall peeking thru in the background. The photo was taken in my turquoise bathroom...
So far, the votes seem to be for Fabric Choice A. If you don't know what I'm talking about, read my last post, and please, input still being solicited as I haven't had time to start cutting yet...
We had a good photo session at JC Penney's yesterday. There was a group of 11 people in front of us, all of whom were wearing leopard print. Even in my weird world, that seemed a bit much. Then, we had an awesome night as The Hubby had read the local outdoor fancy mall was having a Santa celebration. It was great- free carriage rides, free hot cocoa, free face painting, music, square dancing, and Santa handing out candy. The kids had a blast, and so did I. Anything where I can use the word "free" that many times makes me happy! See?
