Quilt blocks! I made quilt blocks! Damn, that felt good. I think a huge reason behind my not-so-craftiness the last few weeks was the mess in my sewing room. While trying to organize scraps a few weeks back, it got out of control. so Saturday morning I cleaned up quite a bit. For a whole day, it looked like a shiny new place. Then Sunday, I started that purple-and-grey quilt, and now, it's a mess again. But it's the happy kind of productive mess. the piles on the floor are all the fabrics I am using for this project and nothing else. (And, Cathi, I even managed to find that pattern I was so freaked out about on Friday!)
So Sunday I made 6 blocks using the free online version of the templates that can also be found in Denyse Schmidt's book (hooray for not having to fight again with the Kinko's guy about the legality of copying them from the book...) And I am really happy with them!
Pardon the miserable light- I took the photo at 10pm because I knew I wouldn't have time this morning in better light... The Wrong Kaffe is in each block, and then each block has 3 other purples as well. I am trying to decide if this wall-hanging to be is done- if I reset the blocks 2x3, or if I want to make 6 more and set them 3x4 as the pattern calls for. Aside from the Wrong Kaffe, this is 100% stash. and I'm not certain if the wrong Kaffe counts as I didn't buy it on purpose...
Okay, if I don't go right now the kids will be late for school and I'll be late for an all-day staff retreat. My office is gearing up to move into our brand spanking new facility later this week, and it promises to be one heck of a grueling few days. That sentence doesn't work, but you know what I mean!
