I awoke this morning to a house filled with wild monkeys! Being sneaky, while PG and Train Boy were eating breakfast, I snuck into her room and redecorated! I even dug through the stuffed-up-friends to get the jungle ones on the bed. And for those of you who might think that polar bears don't live in jungles, think again.
The zebra print case is actually made of minkee. The first thing PG said when she touched it? "Oh, so soft!" Hooray! The jungle animal fabric in the other pillow is actually leftover from the yard she picked a year ago, when we first got the idea for this project...
Princess Girl went to the long armer with me, and I let her choose the quilting design.
Not certain how well y'all can see it, but, it's a paw print motif (technically a bear paw print, but this is a made up jungle with all sorts of creatures, so we're cool). So NOT what I would have chosen, but hey, that's what collaboration is all about!
To make the room totally perfect, I had the best find ever at a second hand store last week. See the rug?
Isn't it awesome? It's in perfect condition. I can only assume someone got it as a gift and didn't want it as it shows no wear at all. And it's just the perfect touch to the quilt. (Both kids went for "rides" on it this morning- I foresee many imaginative games.) Of course, the lavender walls and unicorn curtains are a wee bit distracting... And it seems we need a bed skirt or something, now, as well.
Although all should be good in PG world, it turns out, after 2 nights of awful nightmares, I DO still care deeply about getting her into the Fancy Private School. Sigh. I just want her to thrive, and I am convinced that the FPS is the best option for her. Wish they felt the same way...
